Canyoning Annecy: the Angon Canyon

The Angon River that flows into Lake Annecy has carved out a spectacular canyon that can be easily visited. Indeed, thanks to an impressive access path, you can get as close as possible to the large waterfall and it is a popular tourist attraction for good reason. The water falls almost 60m. There are many waterfalls in the Angon Canyon and this is what makes it its main feature and its major interest in canyoning.
There are several options for going down this canyon and I suggest two:

The Angon Canyon, sporty version:

Where tourists approach to take pictures, you will go over the railing to access the abseil that starts from the platform. And yes! A 35m abseil to start this descent and it will not be the last… All along this canyon, the water has carved out waterfalls that you will have to cross to get out very close to Lake Annecy. A few slides and jumps will enhance the descent which lasts about 2h30

This part of the canyon is reserved for sportsmen in search of emotions and original adventures. You will be supervised by a guide who will take great care of you.

The full version of the Angon Canyon:

Are you looking for even stronger sensations? Do you like big abseils? The full descent of the Angon canyon and its 60m waterfall is made for you! The start is at the very top, at the Pont des Fées. A few abseils allow you to remember the technique before tackling the 60m of “La Grande Cascade d’Angon”. In one length of rope you will follow the impressive waterfall to the terminal basin. Once you have recovered from your emotions, other pleasant abseils punctuate the descent interspersed with a few jumps and slides. The descent lasts about 3h30

For this descent in a small group (4 people max), you obviously need to be a regular athlete and have already done abseiling.
